    Ian collected G-LTFB from Skegness once the 50-hour service was complete and flew to Spanhoe, near Corby, Northants to meet his parents for lunch. Dad enjoyed a quick flight over Corby, Rockingham, Uppingham, Oakham and Rutland Water before returning to have lunch at The Vaults.

    Ian completed his skills test on August 17 with examiner Roy Murray. Kevin passed his skills test on September 13, also with examiner Roy Murray.

    Three planes made the trip across The Wash to visit Seething Airfield. Not yet being qualified, Ian made the trip with his instructor.

    Ian completed his solo QXC today, visiting Peterborough Conington and Leicester. The QXC was flown using only charts and dead reckoning, but here it is plotted on SkyDemon.

    The previous owner of G-LTFB was based in the Channel Islands, so Ian flew on FlyBe from Humberside International Airport to Jersey with our instructor Edward Hawkins to pick her up.     Ian flew his first solo circuit at Humberside in G-BEAC. The cloud base had dropped since doing dual circuits with instructor Edward Hawkins, so this ended up as a low-level circuit at 800 feet. Solo certificate presented by CFI Roy Murray.
